What is the cost of the tour?

The cost of the tour is $3,000 per person (single-occupancy; you don’t want to share a room) and $2,500 per person (double-occupancy; you have a roommate) . This includes all-inclusive accommodations, meals, transportation, and entry into all events. Airfare is not included.

In addition, a processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 is assessed on all Credit/Debit card payments. Full payments can be made by wire transfer, upon request.

What is the payment schedule for the tour?

A non-refundable deposit of $400 is required to secure your spot on the tour. The remaining balance is due November 16th.

What are the cancellation policies for the tour?

Cancellations made 60 days or more prior to the start of the tour will receive a full refund minus the deposit. Cancellations made less than 60 days prior to the start of the tour will not be refunded.

What are the visa requirements for Ghana?

Citizens of most countries will need to obtain a visa to enter Ghana. You can apply for a visa online or at the Ghanaian embassy or consulate in your country.

What are the vaccine requirements for Ghana?

The COVID-19 vaccine is NOT REQUIRED.  Ghana requires the yellow fever vaccine for all travelers over the age of 9 months. You can get the vaccine at most travel clinics or doctor's offices. The vaccine is effective for 10 years, so you only need to get it once.If you do not have proof of vaccination or a waiver, you will not be allowed to enter Ghana. You can get a yellow fever vaccination certificate from your doctor or travel clinic. The certificate will show the date you were vaccinated and the name of the vaccine manufacturer.

What is the currency of Ghana? How do I access my money?

Ghana’s currency is the cedi, which comes in denominations of GHC 200, 100, 50, 20,10, 5 and 1. Coins come in denominations of one GHC and 50p, 20p, 10p, 5p & one pesewas. Foreign currency can be freely exchanged at any Forex Bureau in the country.

Apart from Forex Bureau, some commercial banks also exchange foreign currency. Banks are normally open from 8:30 am to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Some banks also operate on Saturdays from 09:00 – 14:00 GMT. Most large commercial banks will also have automatic teller machines located outside and available during and after hours. Most will take VISA and a few other check cards.

Can I use my Credit Cards?

The most widely accepted credit cards are Visa and MasterCard. These cards are accepted in major hotels, restaurants, banks and businesses. Your card may be used for payment at most all airlines, leading hotels and major supermarkets. However, be cautious when using your credit to avoid fraud.

What is the tipping etiquette in Ghana?

Tipping is permitted in hotels, restaurants, etc. It is rarely added to the bill. Whenever it is not added the quality of service should dictate your generosity to the waiter, taxi driver, porter, tour guide, etc.

What is the dress code for the tour?

The dress code for the tour is casual-sophistication. Please be sure to pack comfortable clothing that is appropriate for the various activities that will be taking place.

What is the weather like in Ghana in December and January?

The weather in Ghana in December and January is typically warm and sunny. The average temperature ranges from 75°F to 85°F. There is a small chance of rain, but it is usually short-lived.

What are the transportation arrangements for the tour?

All transportation arrangements will be taken care of by the tour organizers. You will be provided with private transportation to and from the airport, as well as transportation to and from all events.

What are the accommodations for the tour?

You will be staying in upscale accommodations throughout the tour. The exact accommodations will be confirmed closer to the start of the tour.

What is the food like in Ghana?

Ghanaian food is a delicious blend of West African cuisines. You will be able to sample a variety of traditional Ghanaian dishes during the tour. More commonly known American and European dishes are also available.

Can I drink the water?

Safe but it is advisable for visitors to use bottled drinking water, which is available for sale in hotels and supermarkets. Also, advisable to take at least one Pepto-Bismol or something similar per day while you stay.

Will my phone charger work?

If you are bringing along any electrical appliances, they should operate on or be adaptable to 220 / 240 volts. Electric outlets in Ghana accept either 3-pronged, or sometimes 2-pronged. British or Continental European type plus or converters.

What are the hospitals like in Ghana?

Modern private and public hospitals and clinics are available in all cities and big towns. Tourists should contact travelers’ medical insurance companies to cover any medical contingencies while away from their home countries.
